No Rhyme, No Reason — Just Really Good Books.

Because sometimes you just want someone to tell you what's worth reading

Welcome back — I'm so happy you're here.

Let's talk about books. No overthinking, no theme — just a few titles I've read recently that I haven't stopped thinking about since. The only thing they have in common is that I wish I could read each of them again for the first time. So of course, I had to share the joy.

I once read: "Aren't we all just recommending books to each other and making sure we stay warm?" I have no idea where I saw that, but the sentiment stuck with me. So here are some books I hope keep you warm, too.

Beneath a Scarlet Sky by Mark Sullivan

Oh. My. God. If you need to feel something, please pick this up right now. It's based on a true story about a young Italian man swept up in the resistance during Nazi-occupied Italy — beautifully heartbreaking and hopeful all at once. I bawled as I devoured it on a plane (probably scaring the sweet old man next to me). For what it deals with, it's a surprisingly quick read.

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

I read this in two nights. The format — a mix of interviews and shifting POVs — keeps you turning pages while building such a nuanced, messy, glamorous world. It's raw in all the best ways. I listened to Fleetwood Mac for weeks after, and I'm still somewhere between crushing on and wanting to be Daisy Jones.

Educated by Tara Westover

Memoir doesn't always scream "fun read," but trust me — this one is gripping. Tara's story of growing up in a survivalist family and eventually earning a PhD is fascinating, jarring, and incredibly inspiring. It's about identity, transformation, and everything it costs to grow. You'll walk away with a deep appreciation for the life you've built and serious motivation to keep building.

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

As a 23 year old constantly battling the realization that every path taken means another one not taken, this book brought a strange sense of peace. It follows a woman suspended between life and death, offered a chance to explore all the lives she could have lived. It's gentle, imaginative, and quietly profound. Ever since reading it, every time I look up at the stars, I'm transported back to that vineyard. This book stays with you.

Good Rich People by Eliza Jane Brazier

My entire college house of eight passed this book around in two weeks. It's twisted, fast paced, and just plain fun. A psychological thriller with a satirical edge — it's the perfect palate cleanser when you want something a little dark, a little ridiculous, and totally captivating. Highly recommend if you're in the mood for something outside the typical summer romance lineup.

Even writing this made me happy — that's how much I loved these books. If you end up reading any of them, I hope they stay with you the way they've stayed with me. And if you're looking for more recommendations (or want to swap some of your own), I absolutely love Goodreads! You can find me here— I'd love to see what you're reading.
